A Simple Letter, A Lasting Impact: New Campaign Honors Post-9/11 Veterans

The nonprofit organization A Million Thanks has launched a new letter-writing campaign specifically dedicated to honoring post-9/11 veterans. While the organization has supported service members for over two decades, this initiative marks their first campaign tailored to those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The program aims to combat the isolation and mental health challenges often faced by younger veterans. Participants can request a free package of 22 handwritten notes of gratitude and encouragement via the organization’s website.

Friends and family members can also register on behalf of a veteran. By reviving the “lost art” of physical letters, the program provides a tangible reminder that their service still matters, helping to foster connection and improve well-being.
