States With Tax Breaks on Military Retirement
Since the spring of this year, 6 more states have added benefits for military retirees by exempting military retiree pay in some capacity.
Not all states offer full exemption. When reviewing which states offer exemptions, know the details in regards to age or gross income amount.
As of this writing, California and the District of Columbia are the only areas that do not offer any tax exception on military retiree pay.
